Faster repairs from Ixell
|
| Ixell has launched a new fast repair
system called Quick Repair. The system is designed to meet the
growing demand for fast and cost-efficient repairs to minor
paintwork damage such as stone chips and parking dings. Quick Repair
comes as a complete system of products and techniques for use within
the bodyshop environment only. It allows bodyshops to quickly
process minor paintwork repairs. |
| As with all Ixell techniques, Quick
Repair comes as a completely thought-through system with a full set
of complementary products and step-by-step processes. The key to the
system is keeping the repair area as small as possible, and then
using the superior colour matching of Oxelia waterborne basecoat to
blend in the repair over a reduced size. This cuts job times and
materials usage. Special thinners for basecoat and clearcoat help
blend in the repair seamlessly. |
| This new Ixell process is only
suitable for repairs of a certain type. Ideally they should be near
a panel edge or body swage line, where minor variations in colour or
gloss are less noticeable. |
| Ixell recommends special tools to
help Quick Repair. Substrate preparation is kept to the smallest
area by using orbital sanders at half speed for extra control. All
spraying is carried out using mini spray guns to reduce overspray
and materials usage. The DeVilbiss SRI and Sata MiniJet are ideal

Here. The complete Quick Repair process is guided from the
initial assessment of the damage to the final polishing operations.

step-by-step booklet to guide refinishers through the process, Ixell
