What is HVLP?
Basecoat materials don’t like being over-atomised. Too much air pressure
changes the way the metallic flakes lie down in the paint film and this
can affect the final colour shade/match. DeVilbiss HVLP (high volume, low
pressure) spray guns operate at 2.0 bar (29 psi) gun inlet pressure but
only 0.7 bar (10 psi) air cap pressure and this gives optimum top quality
finishes with both waterborne or solventborne basecoats.
HVLP produces a softer spray-out with a nice even distribution in a longer
pattern to give good material lay-down and wetnesss. The soft pattern with
tapered ends virtually eliminates banding and mottling, particularly on
lighter-shade metallic.

DeVilbiss GTI PRO H1,T1,T2 in 1.2, 1.3, 1.4mm
DeVilbiss launches all-new GTi Pro advanced
technology spray guns
DeVilbiss has introduced the GTi Pro, a totally new development in spray
gun technology, delivering a uniform paint application with a consistently
high-quality finish.
The new GTi Pro may look like its GTi predecessor, but every single
component has been replaced for optimum performance, and all aspects, from
ergonomics through control and ease of cleaning, have been addressed and
improved.
Among notable mechanical function improvements is the “spool” design air
valve, which now graduates the feed of air through the gun, making
fade-outs and blend-ins infinitely more controllable and precise.
Airflow through the gun has been smoothed and the fluid tips have been
internally and externally re-profiled to significantly increase the fluid
flows and make the same tip size suitable for a greater variance in
viscosities. For the sprayer, this means simpler working practises with
fewer set-up changes.
GTi Pro guns are supplied clearly marked as either “BASE” or “CLEAR” to
make the sprayer’s life easier by differentiating their duties and
avoiding mix-ups in gun washers.
The Pro painting process involves three air caps. The H1 is a HVLP cap
primarily aimed at basecoat duty, while the T1 & T2 Trans-Tech air caps
cover a range of applications from wet-on-wet primer to base and
clearcoats.
The GTi Pro has been extensively tested in Europe by leading paint
manufacturers in their technical centres, and at bodyshops, using various
compliant paint brands. The gun has been extremely well received, scoring
highly on evaluation with the very latest generation base and clear coats
and winning favour for control and comfort.
The gun has chunkier, easy-grip controls that are simple to keep clean as
well as being easier for gloved hands to operate. Attention has also been
paid to improving the balance and grip for maximum comfort.
Phil Merrifield, technical support manager for DeVilbiss, said: “Every
major improvement in the new gun enhances one of two things: consistent,
high quality spraying and ease of use. It may look much the same, but a
professional sprayer will feel, and enjoy, the difference within seconds.”
The original GTi was launched in 1998 and quickly established itself as a
leading option for professional refinishers faced with conversion to
compliant coatings.

DeVilbiss GTi Trans Tech Top Coat Spray Gun 1.3mm
What is DeVilbiss TransTech?
DeVilbiss introduced this alternative high efficiency,
compliant atomisation process to Automotive Refinishing in the late
nineties. Trans-Tech simply means “Transfer-efficient
Technology”. This atomisation technology provides the
familiar performance of the legendary JGA gun, yet fully complies with the
Environmental Protection Act legislation in respect of being in excess of
65% paint transfer efficiency despite the same 2.0 bar (29 psi) gun inlet
pressure. Trans-Tech perfectly combines speed of working with large spray
pattern sizes and fine atomisation for the clear coats, single layer top
coats and primers, fillers and surfacers.

DeVilbiss PRi PRO Quality Primer Gun 1.6, 1.8, 2.0mm
DeVilbiss launches PRi Pro
primer spray gun
DeVilbiss has launched its
eagerly-awaited professional primer filler spray gun, the PRi Pro.
The gravity feed primer gun takes its place in the DeVilbiss i-system
line-up and is being marketed as the first step to achieving optimum
finish results
PRi Pro is suitable for all primers including the latest waterbased
materials and comes with several fluid tip sizes to suit fillers,
surfacers and polyesters.
It’s an all-new gun based on the GTI Pro Base and Clear guns launched last
year, which - nine months down the line from launch - is proving extremely
popular around the world. That, the UK manufacturer says, is down to its
new design air valve for smooth trigger control, improved fit and feel,
finely atomised, well distributed spray patterns and fast flow rates.
The good news is, the PRi Pro boasts the same performance with fine
atomisation, large spray patterns and good application and material
distribution for fast and easy application.
The difference lies in a new “P1” Trans-Tech air cap, a totally new range
of fluid tips a new needle, all unique to the PRi Pro Primer model
The range of five tip sizes will cover the whole family of primers,
fillers and surfacers. The new 1.4mm and 1.6 mm suit waterbornes , etch or
wash primers. The 2.2 and 2.5mm sizes suit low VOC, high solids materials
and polyesters. .
European marketing manager Ian Bunker is expecting an early take-up
throughout the world. He said: “A quality primer coat now is now
recognised as an essential part of the process, it is no longer acceptable
to have a primer coat requiring sanding .
“Our original PRi was recognised as the best primer gun on the market and
the PRi Pro now takes the professional painting process to a new level.

Our top selling
small area spray gun.

Brochure
We stock the 1.0mm size as this is by far
the most popular size for smart repair use.
Highest profitability -
SATA® HVLP technology ensures transfer efficiencies considerably above the
65 % required by VOC legislation. As a result, this miniature gun is
extremely environmentally friendly.
The durable air caps are made of brass (not of
aluminium), therefore ensuring a long life time.
Small and lightweight - to
reach even the hardest accessible areas.
Suitable for water-borne materials
- paint needle and nozzle are made of stainless steel, and the
nickel-plated gun body has been refined with a
special coating.
To
make guns different from one another (i.e. guns for
basecoat and guns for clearcoat), the gun can be marked by means of a
coloured plastic disc (Colour Code System).
Self-adjusting air and material packings
with long life times considerably reduce servicing.
The
carefully polished nickel-plated gun surface reduces
cleaning efforts as well.
The
infinitely variable round / flat spray control allows
adapting the fan to all sorts of objects.
Integrated air micrometer -
helps you keep control over the Minijet just like a "big" one.
The
anti-drip device integrated into the cup lid (only with
plastic cups) reliably prevents material from emerging from the vent and
dripping onto the painted surface.
